Walkers and cyclists enjoy stunning views of the blooming bulb landscape at the public lookout point at Tespelduyn in Noordwijkerhout, near Noordwijk. From a height of 14 meters, you look out over the Bulb Region and on a clear day you can even see cities like Amsterdam and The Hague. The viewpoint is located in Hollandse Duinen National Park and is easily accessible via several hiking and cycling routes. This makes it a popular stop for vacationers who want to experience nature and the bulb fields.
The Uitkijkpunt is located in National Park Hollandse Duinen and the regional walking and cycling network brings you here. The municipality submitted the wish for a viewpoint to Tespelduyn back in 2005 and we are pleased that we have found each other in the Area Program B(l)oeiend Bollenstreek with the objective "more experience opportunities along the route networks for different user groups."
The viewpoint is made possible in part by the municipality of Noordwijk, province of South Holland, partnership Holland Rijnland and Tespelduyn.
Program Manager of the Municipality of Noordwijk, Godelieve Mars, is delighted with the realization of Het Uitkijkpunt. 'Tespelduyn is one of the 20 pearls in the area program. With the implementation we want to let these beautiful places in the Dune and Flowerbulb Region shine and develop possibilities for experiences along route networks. Residents and visitors can thus learn about the history, landscape and story of the Dune and Flowerbulb Region in several places. We are pleased that Tespelduyn has opened up part of its grounds so that everyone can go and enjoy the view from the Terp.
'The Uitkijkpunt is a wonderful addition to the already rich offering in the area of National Park Hollandse Duinen,' indicates program director Georgette Leltz. 'We expect to receive official status for National Park Hollandse Duinen from the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality in 2021, and how nice it is that beautiful initiatives like this are already getting off the ground!' The viewpoint is a valuable addition for hikers and cyclists who want to experience the Bulb Region and dunes.
